It makes me mist box memories, that back in
Avenue overlook perhaps
bohemians of yore and are becoming
those bastions of the old Café.
Tortoni now, I live that long. History
living in your dumb wall.
And a close echo of voices that were
is layered on the tables, friendly regulars.
Viejo Tortoni. Refugio
true friendship with the cup of coffee.
In the basement today, the magic continues as an elf
and get us on the threshold.
Viejo Tortoni.
are in your color and poem Quinquela Tuñón. And that tango
Filiberto,
like you, not dead,
lives without saying goodbye.
It makes me hear the voice of Charlie,
from the "Winery" reliving.
They're Baldomero and that infinite
fervor of the "Peña" coming up here. Tortoni
now, as young and old,
with some temple, post and
Blue Bar, anchor, if the fire is the same,
who said he not served dream?
A BIT OF HISTORY:
currently remains a place of cultural diffusion and tourist resort.
Despite the rain, I went out for coffee
. I'm sitting under the awning
tight and soaked this old Tortoni
known.

HISTORY
The Tortoni is the paradigm of coffee in Buenos Aires, but little is known about its origins. Just a French immigrant named Touan decided to open in late 1858, the name borrowed from an establishment on the Boulevard des Italiens, which gathered the elite of the nineteenth century Parisian culture.
A late, the bar was bought by another Frenchman, Don Celestino Curutchet, whom the poet Allende Iragorri described as wise old man ... typical French .... What a strong body and spirit, style classic elongated knob, vivid eyes and wore a black silk cap Arabic, almost a cartoon character that added an accent peculiar to the face place.
The place was frequented by a group of painters, writers, journalists and musicians who formed the Association of People of Arts and Letters, led by Martin Quinquela. In May 1926 are La Peña, and ask Don Celestino Curutchet, let them use the underground cellar. The owner accepts delighted, because in his words ... Artists spend little, but give it luster and fame to the coffee ....
This coffee seems time has stood still like a daguerreotype, when the people he plays billiards, cards, or just drinking coffee with friends, the local is increasingly an indispensable part of the story Buenos Aires. Cafe Tortoni
